…Forget Presidency, Beg Ganduje
The Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Kano State, Musa Kwankwaso, has condemned Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso. This is in reaction to his proposed visit to Kano. According to him, the trip is only intended to challenge President Buhari’s popularity.
The Senator and ex governor last visited Kano in May 2015. In a statement over the weekend, Musa lamented that his brother shunned Buhari’s recent official visit on purpose. However, his aim is to spite the president.
He said: the other two senators “…did not only attend the gathering but played specific roles…” According to him, he aims to prove to the world that he is more popular than Buhari.
“But we want to remind him of how Buhari defeated him in the presidential primaries in Lagos. Even Kano delegates who were in his camp then voted for Buhari. Nothing has changed since then,” he noted.
The commissioner urged his brother to forget his presidential ambition. He instead advises him to appeal to Governor Ganduje, if he needs the seat in 2019.
Recall that APC leaders adopted Buhari as their candidate for the 2019 presidential poll earlier in Kano. They also pledged their loyalty to the Governor as their sole candidate for 2019.
The state APC chairman, Alhaji Inuwa Abbas said their support for the President is due to his achievements. He listed security, corruption and the economy among others. He believes the president is the best for the country at this time.
Buhari in his response said he was sure of total support of the people. He however, spoke against vote buying and violence. Hence, sanitizing party politics.
