€60M Aubameyang To Arsenal Deal: Dortmund gives Update

Pierre Aubameyang to Arsenal

Auba May Have Played His Last Game For Dortmund

Sky Sports reporter Guillem Balague has confirmed that Arsenal have been in regular contact with Dortmund about a potential transfer.

The Gunners looks set to lose Alexis Sanchez this week with Manchester United the favourites, although Express Sport understands Chelsea have made a final hour attempt to hijack the deal.

And Arsene Wenger has already been making plans to reinvigorate his squad with fresh faces.

Bordeaux star Malcom has been linked with a move to the Emirates while Arsenal are said to be interested in rivalling Manchester City for Jonny Evans.

But their No 1 target is said to be Aubameyang, who was left out of Dortmund’s match against Wolfsburg at the weekend for disciplinary problems.

The Gabon international has been in trouble with the Bundesliga outfit in the past and Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has hinted the forward may have played his last game for the club.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to offer £53million to sign Aubameyang, but Balague insists they will get a definitive answer at some point today whether they are prepared to sell this month.

Arsenal Hopeful Of Completing Deal Within The Week

“It’s clear that Arsenal are in conversations with the player and Borussia Dortmund,” Balague told Sky Sports.

“They think they’ve convinced the player to join Arsenal, but of course there’s still a big obstacle to beat, which is: Borussia Dortmund.

“Arsenal will hear tomorrow if Dortmund are selling cheaply, expensively, quickly, or if they’re willing to sell at all.

“Nobody expects this deal to happen early in the week; it may take the whole week, or even more.

“Arsenal are willing to pay €60m (£53.3m). They are optimistic – they think this is a deal that could be done.”
