Next Three Days Crucial.
With Sanchez all but set to exit the Emirates, Arsenal has moved to recruit a befitting replacement. According to a report from Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, Premier League outfit Arsenal have re-entered the race for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The prolific striker was left out of Borussia Dortmund’s squad for their Bundesliga clash with Wolfsburg. The game finished goalless.
Aubameyang, a 28-year-old Gabonese international, has developed into of of world football’s most in-demand stars over recent seasons.
Since joining Dortmund from Saint-Etienne in 2013, the lightning-quick attacker has notched an incredible 98 goals in 143 Bundesliga appearances, doing a phenomenal job of filling the shoes left by Robert Lewandowski.
Unsurprisingly, ‘Auba’ has been linked with a host of European giants over the last few years, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, AC Milan, Chelsea, PSG and Manchester City having all been touted as potential destinations during last summer’s transfer window.
The 56-time capped international has previously stated his desire to join Real Madrid, though he also warmed to the idea of a return to AC Milan (where he played early in his career) earlier this year.
Unsurprisingly, his led to immediate suggestions that Aubameyang was indeed all set for China, but, as per a report from Guillem Balague a short time ago, Arsenal have firmly reignited their chase of Dortmund’s main man this evening, following substantial progress in Alexis Sanchez’s prospective move to Manchester United:
Alexis Sanchez not fully agreed yet. United favourites and next 2-3 days key (nobody takes City out of equation yet). Meanwhile Arsenal want to close soon deal for Aubameyang, left out of squad today, for €60m pic.twitter.com/QtaCcE5Z9P
