Shootiing Stars Sports Club (3SC) woes are set to continue after suffering relegation on the last match day of the 2016/17 NPFL season. This follows the loss of their key player, just one year after he signed a 3-year deal.
Set to be unveiled before the weekend is Nigeria’s CHAN Eagles player, Sunday Falaye. Jainda.com can confirm that Akwa United has completed the signing of Shooting Stars sensation, for an undisclosed fee. Falaye is right now in the Eagles Camp, set to jet out to Morocco in the coming days.
The former Shooting stars forward recorded six goals in the just concluded season. This earned him a place in Coach Salisu’s Super Eagles Team B.
Earlier, Falaye was reported to be on trials at Nordsjaelland FC in Denmark. However, he has chosen to wear the Promise Keeper’s colours for the 2018 season.
Akwa United will be competing in three major tournaments this season. They are one of the four teams that would be flying Nigeria’s flag at the CAF tournaments. The Uyo based club won the 2017 Aiteo Federations to book their ticket to the CAF Confederations Cup.
