At leas five people have been confirmed killed in Kaya village of Madagali local government area of Adamawa State by suspected Boko Haram terrorists. Yusuf Muhammad, chairman of the council, confirmed the incident and noted that the attack took place in the early hours of yesterday Friday. The attack came barely two days after a similar attack on Pallam, which cliamed three lives. Security personnel drafted to the area gunned down two of the insurgents during shoot out which took place around 10:00 Pm. He said
“They killed five people before fleeing to their hide outs unperturbed. It’s so sad that no response from security personnel deployed to man our areas. Kaya is just one kilometer away from Gulak, where soldiers and other security stations.Though local vigilantes later came and pursued the insurgents.”
Adamu Kamale, member House of Representatives from the area also confirmed the attack. “It has been confirmed that five people were killed,in Kaya, through a distress call I got this morning, with many others injured”.
“We are calling on Mr. President to match words with actions to eliminate the remnants of Boko Haram in the area. Madagali is at fringes of Sambisa forest and worst hit by the insurgents attacks in the state.
